Jev Mail Classifier

Classify email into multiple categories and apply configured mailbox actions from Jev probabilities.

Added to Jevfast

How it uses Jev

jev-mail-classifier converts each configured email category into an independent Noul question in one Jev call. The state is the email subject and body; Jev returns a probability for each category, and the application compares each probability with that category's configured threshold before running its actions. Multiple categories can match one email.

Question 1 · urgent

INSTRUCTION

Does this apply: the message is time-sensitive and needs action today?

STATE

State contains the email subject and body. The configured urgent category has the description 'Time-sensitive, needs action today'; the example uses the category name as the question key and illustrates a yes answer, not a captured probability or output.

App workflow

  1. Find unprocessed email

The mailbox runner selects messages without the private processed keyword and respects the per-run email limit.

  2. Build category questions

Configured category names and descriptions become one Noul question each; the subject and body form the state.

  3. Classify and apply thresholds

The selected provider makes one Jev request, returns a probability per category, and the classifier compares each result with its configured threshold.

  4. Run actions and mark processed

Actions for matching categories run, then the email is marked with the private IMAP keyword so later runs do not classify it again.

Why it is interesting

It supports multi-label mail triage with user-defined descriptions and actions. A single classification request can drive mailbox tags, moves, flags, read state, or a webhook, while a private IMAP keyword marks processed messages without a separate database.
