SpotAsk

Route a question from a macOS menu-bar assistant to an in-app answer, web AI or local agent with Jev.

Added to Jevfast

How it uses Jev

SpotAsk sends the drafted question as a string state and asks Jev to choose among the in-app answer and enabled external destinations. Each Choice option includes a channel name and routing preference. Code validates the destination and applies confirmation or a configured confidence threshold before dispatch.

INSTRUCTION

Choose the best configured destination from its channel name and preference.

STATE

The drafted question is the string state. Representative route-catalog test context uses in_app for short in-app chat and external UUID 11111111-1111-1111-1111-111111111111 for Local Agent, described as local code edits. External IDs vary with user configuration.

App workflow

  1. Compose the question

The user opens SpotAsk and drafts a question. Enabled channels and descriptions form routing candidates.

  2. Select a route

When routing is enabled and there is a real choice, the app asks Jev and validates the selected candidate.

  3. Confirm or send

The app honors force-confirm and confidence policy, then sends through the selected in-app or external channel.

Why it is interesting

A small typed routing decision sits between composing a question and choosing where to answer it. The app freezes the send context and invalidates stale recommendations when the draft changes, while preserving user confirmation rules.
